Kinja'd!!!

I’ve had worse days, but 16 hours is 16 hours. I never thought I’d be envious of my friends who are currently unemployed, but here we are...

On a more positive note, I ’m three days away from moving into my new home. Three days. I can make it.

Stay safe out there. I don't think I heard about the new place, but congrats.

That’s brutal.

When I was 19, I worked 80 hours one week at Hardee’s because we were particularly short-staffed. One or two managers were annoyed that I brought home a larger paycheck than they did that week.

A whopping $310.

Inflation, man.

100 hours? Uh, no.

Years ago, when I worked for a major defense contractor, we had to go through annual ethics training. The instructor asked how many hours, as a salaried employee, the company could expect us to work in a week. I blurted out my answer, 168 hours, but everyone looked at me askance, like I pulled some random figure out of my ass, but it’s in context it’s really an important number . In retrospect, I should have said I don’t know - what’s twenty four times seven?

I have a contingency plan that’s pretty well set. But I secretly hope the current job and contingency plan go awry so I can run away to Bangkok (that’s plan C).

Well, unfortunately running away abroad is not the best option right now.

How about Minnesota?

At 19 I quit a job because the 20 hour work weeks were “too much” lol.

Yeah... I miss buying a gallon of chocolate milk for $1.

Currently, I’ve never been so busy. Interest rates are at an all time low, so, real estate appraisers are in high demand. I turn down more work than I accept at this moment. But, I know that the sale of homes is more than likely going to take a nose dive in the next month or so, as the number of unemployed is going to affect the market. I’m expecting that refinancing of existing loans, due to the crazy low % rates will keep my industry humming along for the next few months at least. I’m making bank while I can.

Hearing that there are 168 hours in a week makes me even less happy to have worked over 90.....

6 or 7 working days, I hope.

My brother in law does something for Fred Meyer distribution, I think he’s “only” putting in 60 hour weeks right now.

I’ve had an insane couple weeks and now nothing in the books beyond  this coming Tuesday. I hope it’s just temporary.

Just keep thinking about the financial hardships those other folks will have in 2/6/10/20/50 weeks.

Not the answer that’s fun and uplifting, but that’s our reality nowadays.

If nearly being the most land locked location in the US isn’t exotic I don’t know what is. Nobody comes this far inland and even less stay.

I’m really hoping I can get my refinance closed at the locked rate. Waiting for appraisal now. I imagine that all the appraisers are BUSY w hile financial services are still considered essential.
